FolksLaggin.....is gearing up for a new show season....

FolksLaggin Members' VW's Joining the Folks Guest Book Links

The lowdown on FolksLaggin

Our crew known as FolksLaggin started out just as a group of friends with an aircooled Volkswagen passion, or addiction, I'm not sure which. We've always enjoyed camping and BBQing together, and thought it was even more fun to get all our dubs together when we did so. Before we knew it, we were going to shows together and mixing the camping/BBQ thing in with them. After meeting alot of members from various, local clubs, as well as the show/camping season winding to a close, we decided that a monthly meeting would be a good idea. Basically an excuse for us to still get together with our VW's on a monthly basis if for no other reason, to hang out, and mabey draw some intrest of other air-coolers in the area. Well it seems to have worked! At our very first meeting we had like nine guests arriving in a variety of different types of VW's. A few of which are now members. And now we have two meetings a month and have guests showing up all the time.

Thanks for taking time to check out our site! Feel free to come to one of our meetings if you'd like. Don't be afraid to smile when you see us crusing through your town! And if you're ever at a VW show and see us, come up and say hi! Everyone in our group is very friendly. And on a final note, please smile and wave when you pass us on the freeway in the far right lane. As the name indicates, we are FolksLaggin!

What's new with the Folks...

We'd like to introduce Shorty and Aracelli as our newest members. They have a '64 beetle that you'll be seeing soon. And with a new year among us, a new show season is approaching. And you know you wanna roll with us so come down to Eddie's and see what's up!

We are looking for new members! Alot of our members went looking for the next cool thing to do, so we need some new members that are down. Sound like you? Well come on down to a meeting and introduce yourself. Tell other VW owners that you know. I really think you'll like the members that are still here.

A sad day for FolksLaggin

On November 28th, 2009, our friend Stanley Nixon passed away. Stanley is one of our original members, along with his kids, Dana and Dan. Our hearts got out to you and the rest of your family. Stanley is still loved by all the members of FolksLaggin, especially our children, and will be deeply missed! We will be planning a memorial BBQ for Stanley, and are planning to have an annual event in his name sometime in the future. Anyone who's life he touched is welcome to come by a meeting and share your opinions for ideas as well. May you rest in peace, Stanley. We'll meet again some day my friend!

Here's an older pic of Stanley chillin with Zac at Salt Springs.

We are not affiliated in any way with Volkswagen of America or Volkswagenwerk AG!
